Our next Meet Your Maker guest is Laura Broccardo of Agricola Fratelli Broccardo from the coveted region of Piedmont, Italy. That’s right folks, we have some more Barolo coming your way. This family run winery has been taken over by siblings Filippo, Laura and Federica. Here at Midfield we are fans of this family’s wines because of their finesse and elegance and approachability, even in their youth. Apparently you are fans as well because we ran the Barbera last fall and couldn’t keep it in stock. So now you have to try the rest of the wines!
A young heart with strong ties to the past: that is how we define our family wine cellar. Filippo, Laura and Federica decided to take over everything that has been handed down from their parents, grandparents and great-grandparents: the respect for the land, the passion for a job that allows little rest, techniques to naturally cultivate vineyards, and minimal-intervention vinification.
Our vinification is focused on the purity of each wine, preserving the fruit characteristics, without altering the natural characteristics of our wine, so that you can experience the classicness of the Langhe area. Our vineyards are located in three of the most popular areas of designation in the Langhe suited to the production of Barolo wine – Monforte d’Alba, Barolo and Novello. Our vineyards cover about 7 acres facing south and southwest. The composition of the soil, is characterized by clay, tuff, sand and silt left by the withdrawal of the Padano Sea about 16 million years ago: the alternation of these layers provides our wines excellent finesse, structure and elegance.

ABOUT MEET YOUR MAKER
Meet Your Maker is a continuing series of evenings spent with some of our favourite winemakers. Designed to buck the trend of formal winemaker dinners, MYM is a way to provide our customers with a casual and fun way to meet the winemaker while they themselves hang out at Midfield, eating and drinking, pouring their wines and chatting with anyone who cares to chat with them. MYM is a non-ticketed event; come for dinner, come for a snack or just drop by for a drink. While this is a non-ticketed event, space is usually limited so we recommend making reservations if you are coming in for dinner. Cheers!
